MILWAUKEE, WI [ LINK : AP / Chicago Tribune ] 20th Century Fox says their new show will center around government workers at the County Courthouse. The story notes that it will be a dark comedy.

Well, duh.
And if it were based in City Hall it’d probably be a soap opera. Anything filmed at the governor’s mansion could run the gamut from the science fiction through horror genres, I suppose.
At least their candor is refreshing. It beats the mythical pretenses of yesteryear’s Milwaukee-based programs, which purported, among other things, that we had 30 year-old virgins working in our breweries.

I’m glad producers aren’t making fanciful television series about new automobile factories coming to Janesville, or industries springing up in Milwaukee, lured by our attractive tax climate and the family-friendly atmosphere of our urban neighborhoods.
I hate fairy tales…
