IRS Opts Not To Fleece Flood Victims… much

MADISON, WI [ LINK : Crapital Times ] If, after being brutally mugged, your attacker stuffed a few crumpled dollars in your mouth and chortled “Here’s your bus fare home” you probably wouldn’t applaud his benevolence.

But you are not the press, who are lauding the Infernal Revenue Service for “offering tax relief” to flood victims by letting area residents keep a little more of their own money than the government would normally have wrested from them.

How wonderful.

Even better, the revenuers are “waiving the fees” in case it takes Mom n’ Pop businesspeople longer to mail Uncle Sam his “taste” because Mom can’t row well enough to make it to the post office, and Pop can only dog paddle. Kinda brings a tear to your eye to witness such kind and thoughtful acts.

In fact, this story has motivated ME to help out as well. Here’s my plan: I’m not going to loot or pillage flood-ravaged areas; I won’t pull any phony insurance scams on homeowners who are financially and literally underwater; and I vow here and now not to coerce, cajole, or steal a single penny from any of the victims of our torrential rainfalls.

There. By virtue of the IRS’ standards of kindness and compassion, I’ve offered my fellow Wisconsinites tens of thousands of dollars in “relief” by promising not to take their own money from them.

Aren’t I wonderful?
