WEST ALLIS, WI [ Story : WestAllisNow ]  Pop quiz:  In general, which political faction is the greatest proponent of forcing us to use “alternative energy” sources (wind, solar, and– um… more wind, I guess):

• Left-Wing Liberals; or
• Right-Wing Conservatives

If you said “Liberals”, continue on to the next question.  If you said “Conservatives”, turn off the computer, push the red button alongside the bed and when the nurse arrives, demand a sedative.

Here’s the next question:  When you try and USE wind power by setting up a wind farm or even just a personal turbine on your own property, which faction is most likely to try and STOP you, complaining about the dangers of the transmission lines, and ranting about birds being killed by the rotors and other such nonsense?

If you said “Conservatives”, I’m going to call the nurse FOR you.  Seriously.  Log off before you hurt yourself.

Conservatives (real ones, not neo-cons or RINOs) oppose the nanny state and all the “Mother May I” crap that goes with it.  They’re happy to be left alone to build or not build wind towers and solar roofs on their own damn property as they see fit.

Liberals, on the other hand, are only happy to be unhappy.  They are only content to be discontent.  And if they can spread their unhappiness and discontented-ness to you and me, they become nearly euphoric in their misery.

They demand wind power without turbines that move, solar power without panels that cast shadows, and everything without transmission lines.  Their motto is “Change”, and when they get it, they demand we change the “Change” too.  And then change THAT.  And then THAT.

So my friends in West Allis, like all of us, are in a no-win situation, caught up in the madness of the schizophrenic left who simultaneously demand wind power AND prohibit the turbines that provide it.

The answer then, it would seem, is to stop trying to make people who will NEVER be happy, happy.  If you want a wind-powered generator, put one up.  If one lefty opposes you, find another lefty who supports you.  Put one on each side of your new turbine, and you’ll have a source of alternative energy that’ll last for as long as they keep complaining.

In other words: forever…
