This information isn’t new, by any means. Senator Kohl hasn’t been a lesbian for some time now.
But Kohl has bravely gone on the record with his non-lesbianism, unlike the countless other politicians who keep their “not a gay” status in the closet (a closet that I note is conspicuously absent of any plaid flannel, feather boas, crotchless chaps, or Doc Marten footwear in Mr. Kohl’s size).
Hopefully, my unabashedly heterosexual senator has laid the groundwork for other politicos to follow. I look forward to seeing more senators and representatives step forward and proclaim their non-lesbianism, like perhaps Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Rodham Clinton.
But I’m not holding my breath…

Mr. Gravelle,
I, for one, will sleep better knowing that Senator Kohl likes women as I have no worries that if he has illicit relationships in airport bathrooms, it’ll be with some hard “working” girls.
