INTERNET [JG}  A few weeks back, I started writing these weekend “How To” articles based on the results of various blog-promotion efforts.  Nobody was reading on Sundays anyway, so I had nothing to lose.

Week one outlined a successful (and dirt cheap) ad campaign with StumbleUpon.com that tripled my web traffic and made me like, five bucks.  Week two, I learned that there’s a saturation point, so doubling my StumbleUpon exposure didn’t double my income.  This past week, I intended to do nothing unusual to establish a “post-Stumbleupon” benchmark so I could compare my before- and after-campaign numbers.

But then I filled in for Kevin Fischer, which caused an artificial spike.  No sweat, I figured I’d just take Wednesday out of the equation and average out the week.  But then Charlie Sykes linked to me on Friday. ‘Nother spike.

So I don’t HAVE any normalized baseline data to share with you this week.  I toyed with advising “just have two prominent area conservatives promote your site”, but that’d probably just peez you hoff, and enough people hate me already.

I’ll try again next week.  Oh, except for Monday, ‘cuz I’m filling in for Kev again, so that’ll skew the numbers. Again.  And I can’t promise I wouldn’t write something so darn clever that another prominent figure won’t link to me.

Okay, you know what?  I don’t KNOW how to triple your web traffic like, “normally”.  So I’m just going to distract you with this picture of a cute puppy, and sneak away unnoticed while you’re going “awwwwww”…
