Take THAT, Big Air!

April 25th, 2008

Mequon, WI [story LINK] As a show of my unity with, and support for Harvey Pollack (the Mequon gas station owner who shut down his pumps for a day to punish “Big Oil” for usurious prices) I plan on holding my breath for as long as I can to punish Mother Nature for all her costly natural disasters.

I’m confident that my temporary air boycott will have the same impact that the protest at Towne Market Mobil did, though it’s unlikely that the local media will fawn over me for my efforts the way they did for Mr. Pollack.

Oh, and lest you tree-huggers are amassing the funding to erect a statue honor of this businessman’s apparent affront to capitalism, you should know this. Mr. Pollack estimated he’d lose $300-$400 worth of profit for shutting down the pumps for the day. How much do you think all the television air-time and newspaper column-inches would have cost him if he’d just run advertisements for his service? Hmmmm…
