At the height of my autograph collecting frenzy, I began accumulating quite a pile of the self-addressed, stamped manila envelopes that (some) celebrities generously returned with their autographed photos.

During my regular housecleaning (and by “regular”, I pretty much mean “annual”) I was disposing of those envelopes, pulling them off the pile one-by-one and giving a quick peek inside to make sure I hadn’t missed any of the hand-written notes that occasionally accompany the 8×10 glossies.

As I was tossing one “empty” envelope aside, it– felt wrong, somehow. Dunno if it was the weight, the balance, or what, but this “off” feeling made me re-double check it. Sure enough, a small, signed 3×5 cast photo of the Brady Bunch had been stuck to the bottom seam of the mailer, that I had nearly tossed out.

This, and a Sherwood Schwartz autographed Gilligan’s Island photo are my only signed “full cast” photos, but of the two, this one’s likely my favorite.

Don’t tell Sherwood…
