Ladysmith, WI [JG] Professional undie-bunchers calling themselves the “Water Resources Protection Council”, or “WRPC” (formerly the “Wisconsin’s Environmental Egalitarians for Water Education Everywhere”, or “WEE WEE”) are up in arms, wrists limply flailing frantically, because the Flambeau Mine may have elevated the levels of zinc in a nearby stream.

This puts any area residents who might stoop next to that stream and slurp water from it with any regularity at serious risk for less severe cold symptoms this winter.

And yeah, they’re calling it a “toxin”. Here’s the thing: a “toxin” is any substance elevated to a harmful level. There are even toxic levels of water (Google “water poisoning” if you want to see for yourself).
In fact, I’d argue that every lake, stream, river, and creek in Wisconsin contains toxic levels of water. What ever shall we do about this looming environmental catastrophe?
Quick, somebody call “WEE WEE”…
