Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania[JG] The NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), the NCDC (National Climactic Data Center), and the NESDIS (National Environmental Something-Something-Something …WTF?! Why the hell do we need THREE of these?!) have teamed up to dispute groundhog weathermen.
And no, we’re not kidding.
“It really isn’t a ‘bright’ idea to take a measure such as a groundhog’s shadow and use it as a predictive meteorological tool for the entire United States.”
~NOAA/NCDC/NESDIS consensus

Yes taxpayers, your money went to three redundant, bloated federal bureaucracies to pay scores of staffers to research and debunk Groundhog Day. If you think it’s a stretch to suggest that we could see a federally mandated “groundhog weatherman disclaimer”, or an eventual prohibition against the celebration altogether, then you haven’t been paying attention.
So it comes down to groundhogs vs. government employees. Which weasels worry YOU more…?
